FRESHMAN SEMINAR APPLICATION for 2009-2010

Please note: We are no longer offering a
research stipend to faculty who teach freshman seminars

Faculty who wish to teach a freshman seminar are asked to complete this application. You will receive an e-mail confirming your submission. The fields marked in red are required.

Deadlines: In order to be sure we receive your application in time to schedule your class, please observe the following application deadlines for each quarter. We know that these are very far in advance of when you'll actually be teaching your class, but it's very difficult to find space for your classes if you sign up late. In fact, the earlier you submit your application, the more likely we are to be able to find you suitable space at the time you request.

• Winter 2010 quarter application deadline: August 31, 2010
• Spring 2010 quarter application deadline: November 30, 2010
• Fall 2010 quarter application deadline: May 15, 2010

1st Preference

2nd Preference

While it is likely that all requests to teach Freshman Seminars can be accomodated during the year, there is a chance we will be short Transfer seminars in a quarter when we have an abundance of Freshman Seminar applications. In this case, would you be willing to teach a similar seminar to new Transfer students instead of a Freshman Seminar?

Transfer Seminar Option

Proposed Location: If you would prefer that your class not be run in a regular classroom, please suggest possible locations for this seminar, such as a conference room in your unit. Also, if you are applying late, it is likely that we will be able to accommodate your seminar only if your academic unit is able to provide space.

Proposed Day and Time (Please suggest a possible schedule for this seminar.)

Comments: Please indicate here any other information you'd like us to know.
